About Orbis Support

We support people to live happier lives

The Orbis Story

Our story starts in 2016. Our former owner, Nigel, whose long-standing passion and extensive experience in supporting adults with learning disabilities inspired the creation of the organisation.

Having worked across the UK as both a commissioner and a consultant, Nigel recognised the urgent need for services that went beyond the standard approach—services that offered truly bespoke, person-centred support.

His vision was to bring together high-quality support, safe and comfortable housing, and a team of well-trained, compassionate staff. Orbis Support was born from this vision: to meet the unique and often complex needs of individuals through flexible, personalised support rooted in dignity, respect, and empowerment.

Since 2016, we have grown from supporting just one person to now supporting 16 individuals. Our commitment to quality remains unchanged. We intentionally stay small and will never operate more than 20 services—ensuring our support remains personal, consistent, and never diluted.

On The 29th of June 2024 Orbis Support became an Employee-Owned Trust.

We are now led by our long-standing management team and supported by our brilliant staff, all of whom are deeply committed to providing excellent support and improving the lives of the 16 amazing people we support.

As part of an employee-owned trust, every team member has a personal stake in Orbis’s success. This shared ownership strengthens our connection to our values and deepens our dedication to the people we support.
