Supported Living for Families

We’re here to support you and your relative.

Helping you and your family

At Orbis, we know how important it is to find the right support for someone you care about.Whether you’re exploring options for the first time or transferring from another provider, we’re here to guide you with compassion, transparency, and expertise.

A Personal Approach from the Start

Comprehensive Assessments

Before we begin delivering care, we take the time to understand your relative’s needs in depth. A face-to-face meeting with Tina or Andrew, our Heads of Operations, will include you, your relative, and other professionals to ensure we create a bespoke support plan that truly fits.

A Team Built Around Your Relative

Thoughtful Recruitment

We carefully select support staff based on their skills, values, and how well they match your relative’s personality and needs. You or your relative can also take part in the recruitment process, helping to shape the team directly.

A Smooth, Supportive Transition

We understand that change can be overwhelming. That’s why we take a gradual approach, allowing support staff to integrate naturally into daily routines before any move. This helps build trust and comfort, step by step.

Training That’s Truly Person-Centred

Your relative’s team receives tailored training designed specifically around their needs and preferences. This ensures they are fully equipped to provide consistent, outstanding care that respects the individual.

Stay Connected with the Family Portal

We use the Nourish digital platform to keep you in the loop. Through your secure login, you’ll be able to view daily notes, updates, and photos shared by your relative’s support team.

Planning for the Future, Together

You’ll be actively involved in regular Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings with service managers and other professionals. We make decisions with you, not for you.

Prioritising Safety and Well-being

We carry out regular checks to ensure a safe living environment—from fire and carbon monoxide detectors to emergency grab bags. We also inspect vehicle safety, and all staff are trained in first aid, health and safety, and emergency protocols.

Empowering Daily Choices

Your relative will be supported to make choices that matter—what to eat, what to wear, what to do, and where to go. We promote independence and self-expression every day.

Orbis recognise the importance of having valued relationships in a person’s life and will support individuals to achieve this.

The people we support will have the opportunity to choose their own home. Finding a property can take months and have a huge impact on the time it takes for a new service to start. In some cases, lack of housing can delay a person’s discharge from hospital or a person’s transition within the community.

Orbis understand the difficulties and complexities of securing social and private housing for people with disabilities and can assist you with this. We work hard to find flexible creative solutions on behalf of people.
